Description
The 204bhp SC is a pleasingly strong performer and a great compromise between the enduring charm of a classic 911 and the performance of true sports car. When new it could thunder past 60mph in 5.7 seconds, brisk enough to leave most of its comtemporaries in its wake and comfortably able to embarrass many a modern sports car. The shorter stroke of the 3 litre engine gives it a more revvy character than the 3.2 that followed it and lends the car a spritely feel.
Today these cars are beginning to find a very firm following and have become desirable classic 911s, particularly when as attractive as this example.
The car was delivered by Parker and Parker, the official Porsche centre in Kendal, Cumbria in June 1983 and has completed just 83,000 miles since with a fine supporting history of service stamps, MoTs and receipts. From 1991 to 2010 it was owned by the same gentleman who used it very sparingly, covering fewer than 20,000 miles in those 19 years. When it left his ownership in early 2010 it was given a light restoration by a Porsche specialist including a full respray in its original Glacier Blue, a retrim of the seats, full new exhaust system and mechanical overhaul. It has covered about 4,000 miles since the work was completed and is in exceptionally fine condition throughout.
It is fitted with the 16x6 front and 16x7 rear Fuchs wheels and lower front spoiler of the Sport models, but is without the large Tea Tray rear spoiler lending it a prettier, more classic shape than most, especially in such a rare and pleasing colour as Glacier Blue.
There cannot be too many examples as good.
