This pretty 968 is in genuine remarkable condition both cosmetically and mechanically.
It has clearly been carefully cared for and would happily pass for a car with half of its 123,000 miles. The paint is excellent, the front has been protected by Armourfend since 2004 and it has no significant wear or marks to report elsewhere. The interior is very good, the original carpets having been protected by colour-coded mats (included) and the seats have been restored in the past. One of the alloys has minor marks but that really does appear to be the worst of it.
Most importantly it has just come back from a comprehensive mechanical overhaul including a complete top- and bottom-end engine rebuild at renowned specialist Autostrasse, work worth a fair proportion of the asking price of the car.
The car enjoys all of the usual spec of this hugely underrated GT including power steering, remote locking, electric windows, mirrors and seats and has an impressive list of factory fitted optional extras such as sports seats, an electrically tilting or fully removable roof panel, 17" Cup alloys, body coloured rear spoiler. It also has factory air-conditioning, which, like everything else on the car, works perfectly.
The car is fitted with the Tiptronic S transmission, which works either as a full automatic or can be driven through the gears with a simple push or pull on the lever. This tranmission first appeared on the 968 and went on to feature in later 911s and it works brilliantly with the torquey 3.0 litre engine, providing effortless, relaxed shove when touring and the ability to drive it hard like a manual when the mood takes.
Good 968s aren't ten-a-penny and finding one like this is becoming increasingly rare. It may appear to be attractive to buy one with fewer miles, but when you consider what has recently been spent on this car it represents exceptional value for a discerning buyer and ought to provide trouble-free use for some time to come.
It is supplied with a comprehensive service history with a stamped service book initially by AFN Reading and most recently Autostrasse and numerous receipts back to 1995.
