Description
Perhaps it's just us, but we'd say the early impact bumper cars are looking prettier by the day.

There's something really pleasing about the way the brightwork around the windows and headlights contrasts with the black rubber trim on the cars, especially when partnered with bright Fuch wheels, bright mirror and a fantastic period colour. Just like this car.

The vehicle is well known in 911 circles, having been the subject of a recent comprehensive mechanical and cosmetic restoration and subsequently  featured in 911 and Porsche World magazine.

The rebuild is fully documented with photographs and folders full of receipts and has clearly been undertaken in great depth and to high levels of detail. It is not perfectly original, for example the new wing bolts are cross- rather than hex-headed, so would not necessarily score maximum points in a concourse, but it is head and shoulders above most that we see.

The engine and gearbox are original to the car and suitably rebuilt, the interior is refurbished and fitted with a Prototipo steering wheel, the wheels refurbished and the suspension and brakes fully overhauled.

As you'd hope with the level of work lavished upon the car it drives brilliantly, everything feels tight and together.

The car is supplied with a certificate from Porsche confirming the car's matching number status and that the fabulous orange paint is correct to the chassis.

Such fine examples are very few and far between and as time passes these cars ought to continue to steadily appreciate. In the meantime they feel very good to drive, surprisingly modern and without the foibles that you might expect of a 70s classic.

A lovely classic 911.
