The 3.2 Carrera is the last of the torsion bar suspended cars and therefore the ultimate evolution of the classic, original template that Porsche refined since 1965.
The car's brash styling epitomises the big, bold decade that was the 80s and whilst it may have slipped into being rather unfashionable in the 90s, as the children of the 80s become the classic car customers of today, 3.2s are fast finding favour and good ones are appreciating nicely. Quite right too, the 3.2 is a brilliant thing to own and drive.
This car is period-perfect in Grand Prix White with contrasting black wheels and heavily bolstered part black leather / part logo-cloth sports seats. It is in exceptional order throughout, with barely a blemish to its name. and has covered just 82,000 miles with a big supporting history folder, full of stamps, receipts and old MoT certificates.
As well as being cosmetically superb, it drives correctly too. The gearbox was rebuilt and a new clutch fitted less than 10,000 miles ago by JZMachtech and it makes a very good case for our belief that a good 915 is just as nice as a G50. The engine is oil tight and in fine health and the brakes are recently overhauled.
There are plenty of cheaper 3.2s out there, but not many will be better. We are confident this is a classic that could see regular use without mechanical (or residual) drama.
It is emphatically not festooned with barely concealed rot like many are and is ready to use and enjoy.
If only they were all this good.
