The 3.2 Carrera was launched in October 1983 and although similar in appearance to the outgoing SC, it had numerous technical improvements to improve driveability, refinement and performance.
Most notable, was the new 3.2 litre engine that featured a digital motronic 2 electronic (DME) management system and a new Bosch LE Jetronic fuel injection to raise power from 204BHP to 231BHP. This not only gave a 10% improvement in fuel economy, but the top speed increased from 146mph to 152mph too.
Electric seats replaced the manual items in the SC. The heating system was also improved and the interior featured more luxurious materials. In October 1986, Porsche made a significant change with the introduction of the G50 gearbox which further improved refinement and ease of driving. It is these models that are the more desirable cars today.

We are very pleased to offer this stunning 1987 model C16 UK specification RHD 3.2 Carrera Sport coupe for sale. An unusual start to its life, ordered as a UK C16 car but first supplied in Germany by Jacob Fleischhauer in December ’86, making it one of the first few G50 models. Only 4 months later, In April ’87, it came to the UK and was first registered 10th April 1987.
It was specified as a genuine C16 Carrera Sport as verified by the option codes under the bonnet and service book with optional electric sunroof, electric seats, heated electric mirrors and most noticeably, finished in the rarely seen Cassis Red Metallic with black and pinstripe interior. If the more common shades of Guards red, Grand Prix white and black don’t quite cut it for you, this one certainly turns heads.
The odometer reads 50,180 miles from new, which can be verified from the fully stamped service book dating back to the 1st May 1987, predominantly carried out by main dealers and specialists.
On the road, this 3.2 Carrera drives exactly as you would hope and still presents in wonderful condition. To add to the mix, we have also carried out a leak down test as part of our pre-sales inspection, and to our delight, all six cylinders are reading between 1 and 2 percent.
