The Porsche 911 Carrera was introduced in 1984 to replace the long standing SC model and in typical Porsche fashion, visually looking very similar to the model before, however, this concealed a number of technical upgrades to ensure that whilst the new 911 still looked like a 911, significant gains had been made in economy and performance. Most notable was a new 3.2 litre engine that saw power raised from 204 BHP produced by the outgoing 3.0 model, to 231BHP and the top speed was increased to 152mph. The new Carrera sat below the outrageously fast and dramatic headline grabbing 911 Turbo, yet performance was certainly more than adequate for all but the ultimate thrill seekers. Whilst the Turbo was the ultimate 80s kid's bedroom wall poster car, it was also eye-wateringly expensive, so in 1985 the factory pulled a masterstroke by launching a new M491 Supersport Equipment (SSE) option for the standard Carrera where a new car could be specified from the factory with full Turbo bodywork, brakes and suspension. This model was known as the Carrera Supersport, and just 226 RHD examples came to the UK, making this a rare air cooled 911 today.

We are delighted to offer this original matching numbers UK C16 specification Supersport coupe for sale, finished in its original special order colour combination of Iris blue metallic with linen ruffled leather, piped in blue and matching blue carpet set.

Registered on 1st January 1987 and originally supplied by Official Porsche Centre Swinford Motors, it comes with a Porsche certificate of authenticity to confirm its C16 UK specification and a comprehensive documented history.

Remarkably, it has just 31,423 recorded miles from new and has been with its current keeper since 2016 when the car was purchased from DK Engineering with a recorded mileage of 31,001 miles and has been in storage ever since, just coming out for MOTs and routine maintenance. Whilst as should be expected, it has received some external paintwork over the years to ensure it still presents in immaculate condition, the knowledgeable and eagle-eyed amongst you will have spotted the tell-tale signs from our photographs, that show the rest of this car is in a remarkable original and undamaged condition. On the road, this low mileage Supersport performs as well as you would hope whilst offering all the visual drama, handling and increased braking performance of a 911 Turbo.

An opportunity to secure one of the rarer air cooled 911s this genuine low mileage example will be fully prepared and warranted prior to sale.
