The Carrera S models were launched for the 1996 model year and featured a powerful 285bhp air-cooled Varioram engine, together with wider body of the Turbo model. Their appearance was unique. However, as they retained the retractable rear spoiler of the Carrera, which gives them their revered aggressive stance. They also have a build quality that has not been replicated in more modern variants since.
The 993 Carrera 4S is considered by many to be the most desirable of the normally aspirated 993s, as it not only features the good looks of the 993 Turbo (sans rear wing), but also the four wheel drive system, interior and chassis, including the big red brakes and the beautiful 18” Turbo Look alloys.

It had been serviced every year by either a Porsche OPC or independent specialist until 2016, when it was put into long term storage. Acquired by the current registered keeper, a seasoned Porsche fanatic and Porsche Club member in 2023, with 24 previous 911s to his name, he identified this original condition Carrera 4S as a worthy candidate for purchasing. First stop was Ninemeister in Warrington, for a mechanical recommissioning before going to Kolorrange Automotive for some cosmetic refurbishment. Whilst initially this was to rectify the usual weak areas around the front and rear screens, rear bumper mounts and tidy up some stone chips, the decision was eventually made that the car would be worthy of a full bare metal glass out repaint. The wheels were correctly refurbished at the same time and fitted with new Michelin N rated tyres and it is now fitted with a Dansk exhaust system.
It is only for sale now, as an unexpected opportunity has arisen to purchase a dream property. It will be fully prepared in our workshop here at Little Maplestead prior to sale and supplied with our own in house warranty.
Our Thoughts
With just 67,283 documented miles from new and having been the subject of a recent light restoration programme, this 993 Carrera 4S certainly presents and drives like an upper tier example today.
Whilst we believe in using these fantastic cars as intended, if investment is your thing, then we would say it’s a pretty safe place to put your money too.
