This year (2024), we celebrate our 30th Anniversary. Paul Stephens, throughout the decades, has been known for supplying high-quality classic air and water-cooled Porsche. We also provide expert advice for servicing, upgrading or restoring your classic 911, as well as building unique, tailormade creations such as our Retro Touring, Classic and Clubsport series, and our recent 993R project. It is fair to say the world is a very different place from when Paul started the business back in 1994, where the web was still considered something spun by spiders, messages were sent by fax, deals were done in the pub, and the smartphone was still a decade away.
However, nothing stands still for long; Paul and his dynamic team carry the same level of passion, commitment and core values, harnessed with a modern and fresh forward-thinking approach to everything that we all love and enjoy in our world of Porsche.
The story of Paul Stephens begins over five decades ago with the company founder, Paul, learning to drive at six years of age. By eight, he was competing at local Autocross events driving a mini, and at age nine, had achieved his first 100mph behind the wheel of a Porsche 911. A series of projects bought, rebuilt and sold allowed him to acquire his first 911 at twenty-one, leading to an all-too-familiar obsession.
From a young age, Paul competed competitively in various levels of motorsport, from local Autocross events to national Club racing, British GT, and one-make Porsche championships, achieving several race and class wins with three overall championship titles. More recently, Paul has enjoyed racing in historic motorsport events, including Le Mans Classic, preferring the more relaxed atmosphere.
From the beginning, Paul specialised in Porsche and other interesting marques, quickly gaining a reputation for the quality of the cars he offered for sale, his customer service, and his knowledge of Porsche. This knowledge has ensured that today, Paul Stephens is a place you can go for honest and expert advice, with a high level of experience in this chosen field.
In 2002, Paul began to develop his true vision: PS Autoart – a collection of bespoke hand-built cars based on the 911, that feature classic style with modern features and performance. Initially based on the Porsche 964 platform and officially launched at Brands Hatch in 2005, a series of successful models and specific brand collaborations have been created over the last two decades. Today, we continue to work with a discerning client base worldwide, with a small run of enhanced 911s still lovingly created every year.
